What do I do with my WSBC form 8/11?
When you see a patient with a work injury, it is standard practice to fill in a form 8/11 (Physician's first report) and send it to WorkSafeBC (WSBC). The procedure to do this depends on where you work, so we will break it down by health authority.
Providence & Vancouver Coastal
Hospitals in these authorities use Cerner. Cerner allows you to fill in the work injury details as seen below.
Make sure you select a value for each from each of the dropdown menus in the Injury Codes and Descriptions section. When you finish and click Sign/Submit at the bottom right, your form will be automatically faxed to WSBC.
If done correctly, your billing report should include these details at the bottom of the encounter. It will look like this:
Frasier Health & Interior Health
Frasier and Interior require you to fill in the form by hand and fax it directly to WSBC at (604) 233-9777.
